According to the Texas State Board of Education, Thomas Jefferson is really not that significant a figure in U.S. History. At least not when compared with such luminaries as Joe McCarthy and Barry Goldwater.
Yeah, Ron. I heard about that. I generally think that education should be left up to local governments. But when you hear stuff like that, you really do think that the federal government should take over at least Texas' and Kansas' school systems.
Your parsing of this quote could just as easily be interpreted as "Right to Life" as a right to health care.
Uh yes. One of my favorite political contradictions: "The Life of the Unborn."
