Yes, I've been a bad, bad blogger of late. Let's chalk it up to a midlife crisis I was having over this day. I wasn't actually having one--I've just been extremely lazy--but let's say I had. Ack, I actually put your birthday on my calendar so I wouldn't forget and I forgot to wish you happy birthday this morning - glad I got to it before the day was over! Welcome to the club, it really is awesome being 40, you are going to love it!

Thanks, everyone. I actually did enjoy it. Friends, family, music, beer, and barbecue. Who can ask for anything more?!
On my 40th birthday I was alone. My wife had just left me. I was a basket case. . . literally.
But today I view it as the beginning of the greatest period of my life which culminates in every moment I'm alive!
